My Introductory Blog Post

    My name is Samantha Cornett, but I prefer Sam. I'm a local and live about fifteen minutes away from campus; I've grown up here. This is my freshmen year at SIUE and I plan to major in biology with a minor in chemistry. Hopefully this will only take about four years to accomplish, then I want to transfer to SIUC to attend their Physician's Assistant program. So all in all, I'm banking on atleast eight years in college...if everything goes smoothly. Another path I may take, is after recieving my bachelor's degree in biology, I might decide to teach. I would really like to be a kindergarten teacher. However, right now I am leaning more towards a PA because my mom is a nurse in the ER and I have always been interested in the human body. It's what I'm good at. My interests outside of school is my boyfriend, friends, and family. I work throughout the week at a barbeque restaurant near St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights. I've worked there for over a year now and I really enjoy it. What I hope to get out of this semester is actually doing the work. I slipped a little last semester and I hope I now have a grasp on what college is about so I don't fall behind.
